Totteham receive opening offer for fringe forward with personal terms ‘a formality’

Tottenham have already received, and turned down, an opening offer for fringe forward Steven Bergwijn, according to sources in the Netherlands.
However, another offer has since been submitted, with Ajax keen to bring the former PSV man back to the Eredivise this summer.
Despite 23 appearances this season, Bergwijn has started just 4 Premier League games for the lilywhites, and just one under Antonio Conte.
As a result, it seems likely that he will depart this summer after what will go down as a spell of special moments but ultimately disappointment in north London.

It remains to be seen if a deal with Ajax can be struck, with De Telegraaf reporting that they have submitted a counter offer for the Dutchman. Should one be agreed, they claim that personal terms over a five-year deal should be ‘a formality’.
Tottenham in hunt for reinforcements
It is set to be a busy summer for Antonio Conte, with Bergwijn just one of many set to leave.
Midfield trio Tanguy N’Dombele, Giovanni Lo Celso and Harry Winks have all been deemed surplus to requirements, while Sergio Reguilon and Emerson Royal are also thought to be free to leave.

Ivan Perisic has already joined the club, and it is expected that at least one centre-back will follow. There are also expected to be additions in midfield and as a backup to dynamic pair Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son, with both unlikely to enjoy such injury-free campaigns again.
