Militadis Marinakis, son of Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis, has taken to Twitter to join fans in celebrating taking ‘this magical club back where it belongs’ this season.
For the first time since 1999, Nottingham Forest will be playing Premier League football next season following a 1-0 win over Huddersfield Town at Wembley in the playoff final, courtesy of a first-half own goal from on-loan Terrier Levi Colwill.

Thanks in part to VAR controversy going the way of the midlands club, the goal proved to be decisive, handing Forest the all-important spot in the Premier League for next season.
Militadis Marinakis pens open letter to fans
Despite Evangelos Marinakis being in charge of Nottingham Forest, it has been his son Militadis who has found himself increasingly drawn to ongoings at the City Ground, taking to the pitch following both the playoff semi-final and playoff final wins.
And, speaking on social media after the game, Marinakis jr revealed that he and his family ‘never stopped dreaming or believing’ despite external doubts.
‘I am speechless’, he began.
‘I simply cannot describe to you all the emotions I’m feeling right now although what happened yesterday still hasn’t quite sunk in yet. I could easily have written a book about the past few months.’
‘It was at the end of June when I started becoming more and more involved with this magical club, and with every day that passed I fell in love with it even more’, Marinakis continued.
‘We wanted this more than anything and bringing this magical club back to where it belongs is exactly what you all deserve. Throughout this journey, we heard lots of outside noise and critics but we never stopped dreaming and believing- and we finally did it!’

‘Thank you all! Premier League here we come’, he concluded.
His father, owner Evangelos, was quick to point to his son as a key figure during his short time at Forest, too.
‘I would personally like to congratulate the coach Steve Cooper and his team who have done a fantastic job since they took over, the management, Dane, Koulis and my son Miltiadis who as of this year has played a significant role in the turnaround of the Club’, he wrote.
Whether Forest can build on this success and keep a hold of their most intriguing talents, such as Brennan Johnson and loanee Djed Spence, remains to be seen.
