Making this bright and colorful salad couldn’t be easier. Simply combine all your ingredients together, pour the salad dressing over the ingredients, and then gently toss to combine. Strawberry spinach salad is a crowd-pleasing recipe that is easy to make and refreshing to eat.

Strawberry Spinach Salad Ingredients

  • Spinach – fresh baby spinach rinsed and patted dry
  • Pecans – candied pecans
  • Strawberries – fresh strawberries rinsed, dried, and halved or quartered, stems removed
  • Blueberries – fresh blueberries rinsed
  • Avocados – diced
  • Cheese – feta cheese crumbled
  • Vinaigrette – to taste

Make this fresh salad year-round by substituting other fruits for the strawberries. If you can’t get fresh strawberries you could make this salad with canned mandarin oranges drained of their juice, pineapple chunks, mango cubes, raspberries, pears, or apples.

In addition to the fresh fruit in the strawberry spinach salad, you could also add in additional vegetables. Raw sliced mushrooms work nicely in this spinach salad, as do raw red onions, matchstick carrots, or diced peppers.

Turn your salad into a filling main dish by adding grilled chicken. Walnuts, cashews, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, or sunflower seeds are also tasty additions to your strawberry spinach salad.

What can I use instead of feta cheese?

Goat cheese, shaved parmesan, or blue cheese crumbles would also be fantastic options in place of the feta cheese.

What dressing goes with strawberry spinach salad?

A sweet dressing such as poppy seed vinaigrette works well with a strawberry spinach salad. If you have a favorite homemade balsamic vinegar dressing, it would also work well with the flavors in this salad.

You can prepare the ingredients ahead of time and store them in separate containers. Mix the ingredients together and add the dressing when you are ready to serve the salad.
